A commercial bus and BRT bus collide, Hoodlums set BRT bus ablaze.

Lagos State Bus Rapid Transit Vehicle popularly known as BRT on Wednesday Morning April 19 2023 collided with a commercial bus, and which led to the somersaulting of the commercial bus and the yet to be identify bus driver lost his life in the incident.

The horrible accident which came up on the Ifako Bridge inward Ogudu on the Oworonshoki  Expressway in Lagos. 

This was confirmed in statement released by the "Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Adeniyi Taofiq, by the Agency’s twitter handle on Wednesday afternoon April 19 2023.

The statement which stated that " in a press statement released by the director, Public Affairs Enlightenment department of Lastma Mr. Adebayo Taofiq confirmed the preliminary investigation revealed that the fully loaded commercial bus was coming from Lagos Island and heading toward Ogudu when the accident occurred. "

"Lastma has carried out series of enlightenment campaigns, warning motorists particularly commercial bus drivers to stop over speeding, and adhere strictly to speed limit signs, erected by government across the State"

" While other emergency responders including Traffic Police Officers supported Officials of Lastma at the accident scene, on hearing of the death of the commercial driver whose body was lying beside the upturned commercial bus, hoodlums in the area set ablaze the bus belonging to the Lagos State Bus Service Limited."

From an eyewitness understanding, the fully loaded commercial bus was coming from Lagos Island thereby heading towards Ojodu Berger axis of the state when the horrible accident happened.

The Bus Rapid Transit vehicle was seen on fire this very morning after the collision of the both vehicle which sent the commercial bus driver to his early grave.

However, the BRT Bus was said to have been set ablaze by some hoodlums in the area.

The rehearsal at the Eagle Square in Abuja, was seen to be a good expression of the Military readiness and willingness to welcome the President elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as announced by Independent National Electoral Commission INEC.

Despite the fact that some people disagree with the result of the election  and were unsatisfied with INEC process in the conducts of the election, which led to coalition of some political parties to challenge the outcome of the election, it is clearly seen that the inauguration of the President elect, will hold on May 29 2023 as schedule

A shocking incident, that got people overwhelmed, a building which consist of seven floors, still under construction collapsed in Banana Island, Ikoyi axis of Lagos, an area recognized as the most luxurious place to live in the country, where you will find people with the most high ranking status and the wealthiest set of people in the country, an iconic place.

The incident which occurred at a precise time 3:00 pm, Wednesday afternoon, April 12 2023.

According to a report from “the PUNCH”, the horrible event, which led to the building caved in when some of the site construction workers are still on site after they have closed for the day, for one reason or the other.

However, some of the site construction workers, that are onsite sustained different level of injury, as a result of the  collapse.

The spokesperson for the Lagos State Fire Service and Rescue Service, Ammodu Shakiri, affirmed the incident.

He said, “we got a call around 3:58 pm. We are currently trying to ascertain the claim that no one was under the rubble.

A well recognized instagram cloth distributor, Adeshina Olayinka, popularly known as khadi was found dead in a famous hotel, in an area called, Akobo in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Olayinka is well recognized with her designer clothes and bag business on social media.

Understanding from Oyo affairs, she told her friend that she is having a meeting with someone at Wetland Hotel, in Akobo that night, Wednesday 5th of April 2023.

The man she held a meeting with, however, checked out early the following morning which is Thursday 6th of April 2023, followed by a phone call to Khadi's room and she confirmed her safety to the receptionist.

Unfortunately, Khadi was found dead hours later when the receptionist observed she had over stayed in the room, and reached out to inform her of her overstaying.

The Lagos State Police Command on Friday affirm-ate,  the killing of a suspected kidnapper, and they succeeded in rescuing two abductees through a raid on these kidnappers' den in the Ikorodu axis of the state.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the state Police Public Relations Officer, who verify the development, mention that the operation took place on Thursday night

Hundeyin further explained that during the raid, the kidnappers immerse themselves in a gun duel with the policemen, in adding that after killing one of the suspects, they succeeded in rescuing the victims and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The House of Representatives has passed for second reading, the Medical and Dental Practitioners Act (Amendment) Bill 2022, which seeks to make it compulsory for graduates in medical and dental fields to render services within Nigeria for five years before being granted a full licence.

Johnson been the Team lead of the debate on the bill, he noted that the amendment was "in order to make quality health services available to Nigerians considering the growing trend of the Nigeria population and the current emigration rate of the Nigerian-trained medical and dental practitioners abroad."

He said, " Nigeria currently has only 24,000 licensed medical doctors available in the country, less than 10 per cent of the number needed to meet the World Health Organization recommendation.”

"I now talk to myself and said, let us look at what is happening. I now noticed that the vacuum is that immediately after houseman-ship, we notice that most doctors, because of greener pastures there is a capital flight from Nigeria abroad to UK, America and all that. The Government has invested so much money in training these medical doctors.”

"To give back to society after training you, we are not saying you cannot go abroad to make money. If the government subsidised your tuition, the least we expect is that after your housemanship, before you are given full licence, at least you can give back to society within the period of five years. So after five years, you are free to go, at least you have given back to society.”

22 year old lady found dead in her room, boyfriend held in custody. 

A 22 year old, Kabirat Sobola, former student of Mashood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta, was allegedly stabbed to death in Ogun State Capital. The family member of the young lady is demanding for justice.

The departed young lady, is a National Diploma holder, was reportedly murdered in cold blood in her room, in Abeokuta on Friday, February 4 2023.

The State Police command has began an investigation regarding the murder of the young lady, the incident which has pegged the family of the deceased into mourning. The boyfriend of the deceased was held police custody for interrogation and further investigation.
